ASL Interpreter

Are you passionate about making communication accessible and supporting individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing?
We are seeking a skilled ASL Interpreter to facilitate effective communication in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpreting services

• Facilitate communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing employees, students, staff, and community members

• Support workplace accessibility and inclusion

• Interpret accurately while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality

Minimum Requirements:
• General Interpreter License issued by the Arizona Commission of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ACDHH)

• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

• Strong English verbal, written, and signed communication skills

• Knowledge of Deaf culture and diverse communication methods

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret written and verbal instructions

Additional Skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher

• NIC, CSC, NAD Level 3-5, Certificate of Interpretation and/or Transliteration

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher

• Experience working with youth or adults in educational interpreting settings

• Knowledge of child and language development

Requirements Prior to Start Date : • Proof of MMR immunization or immunity to measles and rubella • FBI fingerprint background check • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation • Auto insurance meeting state requirements
