Your day as a Occupational TherapistAs a Occupational Therapist at American Premier Home Health, your daily responsibilities will include assessing patients' needs and developing personalized treatment plans to enhance their functional abilities. You will conduct hands-on therapy sessions, working one-on-one with clients in their homes to improve their daily living skills and promote independence. Additionally, you will document progress and modify treatment strategies based on patient responses.
Collaborating with nurses, caregivers, and family members will be essential to ensure consistency in care and support. You will also participate in regular team meetings to share insights and discuss best practices. Staying updated with the latest therapeutic techniques and engaging in professional development will be part of your routine, ensuring you provide the highest standard of care to our clients.
Requirements for this Occupational Therapist jobTo excel as a Occupational Therapist at American Premier Home Health, you will need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program, along with a current state licensure.
- At least one year of clinical experience in occupational therapy, particularly within home health or community settings, is essential.
- You should possess proficiency in developing individualized care plans, including recommendations for adaptive equipment and home modifications that promote patient independence.
- A strong understanding of home health care regulations, including CMS's Conditions of Participation and HIPAA, is crucial for compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
