Java Backend Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Backend Developer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. Candidates must have strong hands‑on experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis, while developing backend components and optimizing data‑driven applications.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Backend Developer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java 8 and Spring Boot.

• Build and optimize data‑driven applications by integrating with Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and search platforms like OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and manage code through Git‑based workflows such as GitFlow.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application performance across distributed backend components.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable solutions while following Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Apply analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to innovate, improve system reliability, and support continuous backend improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands‑on backend development using Java and Spring Boot.

• Proven expertise in Java 8, Spring Boot, and backend API development, with solid experience across Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis.

• Strong experience with Git‑based source control workflows and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred), along with the ability to work within Agile/Scrum environments.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $47.00 per hour
