Bring your passion for English education to a dynamic high school setting as a co-teacher supporting students’ growth in reading, writing, and comprehension. This contract position spans the full academic year from August 3 through May 21, 2027, and offers a full-time schedule in a collaborative classroom environment. The focus is on co-teaching designated English classes, utilizing your expertise to inspire students and foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License (required)
- IVP fingerprint clearance card (required)
- Experience teaching English Language Arts, emphasizing reading, writing, and comprehension
- Background or credentials in special education is an asset
- Ability to co-teach and collaborate effectively with fellow educators
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-instruct English classes in alignment with the school’s curriculum and standards
- Provide effective support to students in all aspects of ELA: reading, writing, and comprehension
- Cooperate closely with co-teacher(s) to develop and implement engaging lesson plans
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varied needs of students, including those with IEPs
- Support classroom routines, classroom management, and student engagement strategies
- Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development as needed
