Business Operations Manager - Deposit Products
San Francisco, CA, Washington, D.C., New York City, NY, Detroit, MI, Phoenix, AZ, Miami, FL, Denver, CO.
Rocket Money’s mission is to meaningfully improve the financial prosperity of millions of people. We help our members understand and optimize their financial lives, and increasingly, we help them grow their money through consumer-friendly savings products.
As we expand our portfolio of deposit products, we’re looking for a strategic, hands‑on operator to own and scale Business Operations for this critical business line.
Please note: We strongly encourage team members to be in the office 1‑2 days per week, though there is no formal in‑office requirement.
The Business Operations Manager, Deposit Products will be the operational owner for Rocket Money’s deposit products. You will run Business Operations for our existing Smart Savings account (FBO), lead the launch of our upcoming high‑yield account (HYSA/HYCA), and build the operating foundation for any future deposit products.
This role sits at the intersection of product, partnerships, compliance, finance, and operations, acting as the connective tissue that ensures our deposit products are safe, scalable, compliant, and financially sound. You will proactively shape how these products work end‑to‑end: operational design, partner readiness, risk and fraud oversight, issue management, and ongoing performance.
If you love ambiguity, enjoy architecting systems from scratch, and thrive as the “go‑to person” for a complex business area, this role is for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
📌 Business Operations Owner for Deposit Ops
- Own day‑to‑day business operations for Smart Savings and future deposit products.
- Monitor product health, financial drivers, risks, and operational KPIs; identify trends and propose improvements.
- Translate business goals into operational plans and ensure flawless execution.
🚀 Lead the Launch of New Deposit Products
- Drive the launch of our new high‑yield deposit account, scoping requirements, coordinating across partners, designing processes, and unblocking issues.
- Build the operational infrastructure for future deposit products (policies, workflows, metrics, performance guardrails).
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for deposit product bank partners, processors, and internal stakeholders.
- Shepherd partner relationships, run partner meetings, track commitments, and ensure delivery.
🛠 Operational Excellence & Problem Solving
- Build and continuously refine procedures across fraud, escheatment, payments, customer support workflows, exception handling, and more.
- Deep‑Dive into operational issues, data anomalies, and system behavior, owning root cause analysis and long‑term fixes.
- Create clarity in ambiguous situations; proactively identify gaps before they become problems.
- Align cross‑functional teams around decisions, timelines, and risks.
- Present insights and recommendations to leadership with confidence and clarity.
In your first 90 days:
- You understand our business model, partners, compliance constraints, and operational pain points.
- You’ve taken ownership of Smart Savings operations and delivered improvements with measurable impact.
- You’ve built early foundations for the high‑yield account launch.
Within your first year:
- You’ve successfully launched the high‑yield account and built a scalable operating model for it.
- You’re the recognized owner and subject‑matter expert for deposit product operations.
- You’re anticipating problems, driving cross‑functional alignment, and steering the roadmap for operational growth.
- 4+ years of experience in Business Operations, Strategy, Product Operations, or a highly cross‑functional operational role.
- You thrive in ambiguity and act like an owner; you’re energized by figuring things out.
- Exceptional communicator; you can make complex systems simple.
- Strong project manager with a bias toward action.
- Comfortable with data analysis and turning metrics into decisions (Looker, pivot tables).
- Proven ability to work with partners, vendors, and technical + non‑technical stakeholders, balancing diplomacy and assertiveness.
- You enjoy moving between strategy and execution, zooming out to see the whole system and then rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
