Job Opportunity – Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider – Arizona
Start Date: August 10, 2026
Location: Arizona
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) with weeknight beeper call coverage (3:00 PM – 7:00 AM), plus weekend 24-hour call rotations. Monthly coverage includes 4 days of daytime clinical work plus extended call responsibilities.
Highlights:
- Cardiothoracic surgery position supporting a 199-bed hospital with a dedicated CVICU and step-down unit
- Daily patient volume of 10–15 CVICU/step-down patients, plus 1–2 surgical cases
- Adult and geriatric patient population with diverse CT surgery case mix
- Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- Electronic medical records managed through Cerner system
- Mandatory remote Cerner training provided (approximately 4 hours) prior to start date
Requirements:
- Physician Assistant: Graduate from NCCPA-approved program; board certified or certification-eligible by NCCPA; active or eligible for Arizona PA license
- Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in Nursing; graduate from Acute Care NP program; completion of RN/NP First Assistant Program; current unrestricted Arizona APRN license; Medical Surgical or NP ANCC/AANP certification
- Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience with proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
- DEA registration required
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Credentialing timeframe: 30 days
