Our client, a 400-bed regional medical center, needs an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide critical care in their Level II trauma center. This facility serves a diverse patient population and handles approximately 65,000 emergency visits annually. The ED operates 24/7 with a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and support staff committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

The hospital has received multiple quality and safety awards and maintains Magnet designation for nursing excellence. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of emergency cases including trauma, cardiac emergencies, pediatric care, and critical stabilization. Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for emergency department patients
  • Triage patients according to acuity level and prioritize care based on clinical presentation
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per physician orders and protocols
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and disposition
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record system
  • Operate and troubleshoot emergency medical equipment including monitors and defibrillators
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and care instructions
  • Participate in code blue responses and emergency resuscitation efforts

Requirements

  • Current Arizona RN license in good standing or compact state license
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (or obtained within 90 days)
  • TNCC or ENPC certification strongly preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
