Role: Material Handling Equipment Mechanic

Pay Scale: $26.00 – $34.00 for every hour, contingent on your experience and credentials

Responsibilities:

• Engage in routine maintenance and repair for an array of forklifts and heavy equipment, whether combustion or electrically powered.
• Tackle mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic challenges to uphold and enhance equipment performance and safety.
• Pinpoint future problems through thorough inspections and assessments.
• Document repair histories, part usage statistics, and perform maintenance updates faithfully.
• Provide repair services in-shop and on-site as required.
• Coordinate with team members to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtimes.
• Keep abreast with modern technologies in the material handling sector.
• Follow OSHA's strict safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness and order in the workspace.

Prerequisites:

• High School completion or equivalent is necessary; further technical education is beneficial.
• Two or more years in the field as a forklift or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Robust grasp of mechanics, electrical configurations, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to decipher technical manuals, schematics, and wiring layouts.
• Excellent at solving challenges, meticulous about details, and highly organized.
• Dependency to work well both alone and within a team.
• A valid driver’s license and a clear record (potential utilization of company vehicles for fieldwork).
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.
• Owning a personal set of tools is preferred.

Extra Mile Credentials:

• Certified by original equipment manufacturers (OEM), such as Toyota, Hyster, or Crown.
• Mechanical certifications like ASE or an equivalent.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, an asset.
