Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts on T8 - Trauma, Ortho, Surgical unit
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 in a 30-bed unit
• Must have minimum 2 years telemetry experience and Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Weekend requirement of 3 shifts in a 4-week period (4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks)
• Holiday shifts integrated into permanent staff rotation
• Must pass dysrhythmia examination prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail SIMs Lab required on Day 1 of orientation covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must maintain sterile field during procedures
• Floor-specific orientation of 2 shifts
• Floating to Observation, VMU, T6, T5, 6N, 5N MedSurg, and all medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Work with Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry
• Care for patients including transplants post-op day 1, Whipple procedures, spine surgeries, orthopedic joint procedures, and trauma patients
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Dress code requirements: navy scrubs, natural hair color, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

The organization maintains high standards for nursing competency and provides a supportive environment with charge nurses who do not take patient assignments and adequate nursing aide coverage.
