Promotions Van Associate
LOCATION: 4740 E. University Dr., Phoenix, Arizona 85034
SCHEDULE: 40 hours a week with a flexible schedule of Monday to Sunday. Hours will vary, based on scheduling needs.
The Arizona Lottery is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Promotion Van Associate. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, interactive environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences while supporting event coordination efforts across the state.
Under the direction of the Promotions Van Supervisor, the Promotion Van Associate plays a key role in promoting Arizona Lottery products by engaging with customers at events, processing ticket sales and redemptions, and assisting with event logistics. This position also includes administrative responsibilities such as handling customer inquiries, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records.
What You'll Do
- Provide outstanding customer service to players visiting the Lottery Promotion Van at events by answering questions, resolving concerns, and assisting with ticket sales and redemptions.
- Educate customers on Lottery games, rules, and promotions, explaining processes and providing informational materials.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing promotional events across the state, including identifying and recommending new opportunities to expand outreach.
- Maintain a strong presence at events, ensuring the promotion van is engaging, organized, and well-stocked with promotional materials, signage, and merchandise.
- Handle phone inquiries by providing winning numbers, explaining game details, processing customer requests, and redirecting calls to appropriate departments.
- Perform administrative tasks, including processing incoming mail, preparing bank deposits, reconciling daily financial transactions, and drafting correspondence to internal and external customers.
- Securely process customer payments using personal identifying information while maintaining strict data security and confidentiality.
- Support event logistics, including setup and breakdown of promotional materials, equipment, and signage.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues related to sales systems and promotional equipment.
- Ensure compliance with State and Lottery laws, rules, and policies when handling customer interactions and transactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the promotions and sales team.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience with cash handling responsibilities.
- Promotions, marketing or event experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of State and Lottery laws, rules, and regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic math computation practices, cash handling practices, and financial reconciliation.
- Familiarity with lottery games, products, and regulations, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel) and Google Suite proficiency.
- A valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers, co-workers, and event staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries efficiently.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and work well under pressure.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, data entry, and administrative tasks.
- Willingness to travel statewide for events and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
