Lead the team that outfits every Grand Canyon river trip Canyon REO sends downstream. Since 1991, Canyon REO has worked with private Grand Canyon boaters to provide the support and supplies for an unforgettable wilderness river trip. While many experienced boaters have the skills to raft through the Grand Canyon, few have the necessary equipment, food packing experience, or desire to plan the logistics of a 16-30 day river trip. Planning a Grand Canyon trip is a massive undertaking and often takes place over one to two years. Canyon REO has developed and refined a program to provide equipment, food, shuttles, and logistical support to these boaters. We make the long process of planning a private Grand Canyon river trip smooth and easy.
The Warehouse Operations Manager is a 40 hour a week position that oversees the river equipment, vehicles, and facilities at Canyon REO. They lead a team of employees who prepare, load, unload, and clean up after trips. They work closely with the Logistics Department and Food Room to make sure all details of a trip are executed. They also manage repairs, inventory, and improvements to river and warehouse systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Schedule and lead a team of 3-5 employees.
· Supervise and quality control warehouse employees’ work.
· Obtain expertise in REO river systems and the function of rental gear.
· Maintain, clean, repair, stock, and inventory river equipment.
· Oversee maintenance and cleaning of REO vehicles (vans, trucks, and trailers).
· Oversee organization, upkeep, maintenance, and repair of the REO property and warehouse.
· Orchestrate the loading and unloading of river trips.
- Develop and maintain relationships with REO vendors and suppliers.
· Interact with clients in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
· Present 30-minute river equipment orientations.
· Be familiar with and capable of leading trip rigs and de-rigs at the river.
· Other support duties as needed to ensure smooth operation of all trips.
Physical Requirements:
· Able to lift 50+lbs repeatedly
· Standing/walking for extended periods
· Outdoor work in extreme heat
· Exposure to the elements
EDUCATION:
Required: Some college and river management experience
Preferred: 4 year college degree or equivalent river and warehouse management experience
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Previous experience with river outfitting industry, expedition style river trips, Grand Canyon river experience, river equipment maintenance, personnel management
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
This position requires the skills to track, organize, and quality control the many elements that go into a multi-week river expedition.
· Team leadership
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Creative problem solving
· Computer literacy including email, Word, and Excel
· Experience driving large trucks and trailers (CDL not required)
· Professional and cooperative demeanor to work with staff and other departments
· Good verbal communication skills
· Must be available some weekends and holidays and adapt to schedule demands
· Extra consideration will be given to those with welding, mechanic, and handyman skills

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 an hour starting wage
