Job Title: Electrical Technician – PLC Programming

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician with strong PLC programming experience or a strong interest in learning PLC programing to support operations in our high-speed industrial beverage packaging plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and programming PLC-controlled systems and electrical components as well as the network communications critical to production efficiency and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and components in a manufacturing environment.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms) for process control and automation systems.
• Maintain and calibrate sensors, VFDs, HMIs, and other control system hardware.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E).
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of changes to control systems.
• Provide technical support during machine installations, upgrades, and commissioning.
• Train operators and junior technicians on basic equipment functionality and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably in food or beverage packaging is a plus.
• Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Familiarity with HMI systems, SCADA, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and CMMS tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment, including occasional overtime or shift work.
