Job Summary:
As a Tax Manager , you’ll play a vital role in supporting our continued growth by leading tax-related matters within our Accounting & Finance team across our diverse portfolio of communities and affiliated entities. This is a high-impact role where you’ll serve as our in-house tax expert, partner with external advisors, and contribute directly to financial accuracy and efficiency. What You'll Do
Oversee and review multi-state REIT, corporate, and partnership tax returns (including K-1s) prepared by external firms.
Support REIT compliance through income and asset testing, earnings and profit calculations, and transfer pricing documentation.
Perform tax research, identify planning opportunities, and recommend strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits.
Manage property tax, personal property tax, and business personal property filings—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments.
Streamline and continuously improve tax processes and reporting systems for greater efficiency.
Contribute to corporate accounting activities including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, budget variance analysis, and audit support.
What We're Looking For
Experience: 3+ years in tax accounting or a related role, with public accounting required; real estate or REIT experience highly preferred. Experience working with GL accounting also highly preferred.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s in Tax and/or CPA preferred).
Skills: Advanced knowledge of tax compliance, GAAP, and corporate accounting; strong organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
