EMI Services is hiring a Maintenance Trades Helper who supports skilled technicians by performing manual tasks, handling tools, and assisting with repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Key duties include cleaning work areas, transporting materials, conducting routine preventative maintenance, and assisting with building repairs. They work under supervision to ensure facility equipment runs efficiently. 

Salary

$27.01/ hr. plus $10.00 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Responsibilities

• Technical Assistance: Assist journeymen with installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, electrical components, and plumbing systems.
• Manual Labor & Support: Carry tools, materials, and equipment; hold materials for skilled tradespeople.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine tasks such as changing filters, lubricating components, and cleaning cooling towers.
• Facility Upkeep: Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, cleaning, and repairing walls, floors, and fixtures.
• Site Safety & Organization: Clean work areas, organize tools, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Tool Handling: Operate and maintain hand and power tools.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of repair techniques and tools.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods.
• Instruction Following: Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of, or ability to learn, safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in trades assisting
• Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Regular, dependable attendance
• U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

• Must lift 75 lbs. unassisted
• Must work in extreme weather conditions - summer peaks at 120° Fahrenheit
• Must wear appropriate Person Protective Equipment (PPO)
