Description

This position supports our clinical staff with patient specific administrative tasks. This position will be responsible for scheduling, documentation, insurance verification, and other administrative tasks as needed.

  • Answer incoming calls, which may include screening calls, taking messages, and providing information to patients, physicians, providers, hospitals, and staff.
  • ocument correspondence in the patient's medical record. Update demographic and insurance information in the Athena EHR.
  • Verify insurance and network status using payer portals and/or calling insurances
  • Coordinate internal schedules and booking patient appointments.
  • Ensure all necessary medical documentation is processed according to standard procedures.
  • Ensure communication with patients and internal departments are accounted for and each party has a clear understanding of pertinent information in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with clinic staff to follow up on patient requests.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including scanning paperwork, data entry, and general organization.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect business operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ scheduling and/or customer service experience
  • Possess an understanding Insurance Plans i.e. Medicare vs Medicare Advantage
  • Computer skills- EMR and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Athena EMR experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
