Position Summary:

The Head Golf Professional is the face of golf at Blackstone Country Club. This position leads all facets of the golf operation, including staffing, service delivery, tee time management, instruction, tournament programming, and merchandising. The ideal candidate brings energy, creativity, and a member-first mindset to everything they do. This leader will be highly visible, build meaningful relationships with members and associates, and shape a golf experience that is polished, consistent, and infused with joy.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management

• Recruit, develop, and inspire a team of golf professionals and outside services associates.
• Foster a culture of service, accountability, and hospitality.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to support a unified member experience.
• Actively mentor and coach the golf professional team, fostering individual growth, career development, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Golf Operations

• Oversee daily operations: tee sheet management, pace of play, range services, cart operations, and course presentation.
• Ensure operational excellence and smooth, efficient member interactions.
• Enforce standards that reflect Blackstone’s commitment to a refined and enjoyable experience.

Member Experience & Programming

• Lead a vibrant tournament calendar and develop engaging golf events for all levels.
• Be highly visible and relational—engaging with members across all touchpoints.
• Create programs that reflect the diverse interests of the membership and grow participation.

Instruction & Player Development

• Provide private lessons, clinics, and junior development programs.
• Stay current on modern teaching methods, tools, and technologies.
• Build a teaching and development culture that inspires golfers of all skill levels.

Retail & Merchandising

• Curate and manage a golf shop that reflects Blackstone’s aesthetic and member preferences.
• Oversee buying, inventory, displays, and vendor relations.
• Ensure merchandise performance and presentation aligns with club expectations.

Financial & Administrative Oversight

• Develop and manage the golf operations budget.
• Support accurate payroll, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
• Ensure compliance with club and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Class A PGA Member in good standing (required)
• 5+ years of progressive golf management experience at a private club preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Creative mindset with a passion for member engagement
• Proficiency in industry software (ForeTees, Golf Genius, Jonas preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to lead successful teams and drive excellence
