Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist (30 Hours Per Week)

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our Arlington, VA office. The schedule is Monday - Friday 6:45 am - 12:45 pm. This position is 30 hours per week and is eligible for benefits.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our "job." In general, the Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant is responsible for:

• High volume of phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Assists with the clinical care of fertility patients
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Provides patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
• Provides pre and post op education
• Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families
• Works independently to assure the program goals are achieved
• Support and promote excellence in customer service

What You'll Bring:

The skills and education we need are:

• Strong phlebotomy skills required
• High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
• Completion of a formal MA program
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
