We are seeking a reliable and experienced Equipment Yard Operator to assist with daily operations at our equipment rental yard. This position is responsible for safely operating, moving, organizing, and maintaining various types of rental equipment. This is a yard-based position — equipment operation will take place on the rental lot only and will not require traveling to job sites.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and light-to-medium dirt equipment, along with strong attention to safety and equipment handling.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and organize rental equipment and materials
• Operate boom lifts and scissor lifts for equipment handling and yard operations
• Operate miscellaneous dirt equipment including:
• • Mini excavators
  • Skid steers
  • Other small construction equipment
• Move equipment around the rental yard and stage equipment for customer pickup and return
• Inspect equipment before and after rentals for damage, cleanliness, and proper operation
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment from trucks and trailers
• Perform basic yard organization, cleanup, and equipment maintenance tasks
• Ensure equipment is parked, stored, and secured properly
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Communicate equipment issues or maintenance needs to management

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating construction equipment required
• Experience with forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts preferred
• Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers, or similar dirt equipment preferred
• Ability to safely maneuver equipment in tight spaces
• Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and carry materials/equipment parts as needed
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment:

• Equipment rental yard environment
• No off-site construction work required
• Daily operation of equipment will be performed on the rental lot only

Experience Level: Experienced Equipment Operator Preferred
