Job Description
As a Material Handler Lead, you will oversee the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment and processes within our modern facility. You will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and optimizing inventory control processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team in material handling, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Ensure all material handling equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate receiving, shipping, and inventory control processes.
- Implement FIFO, put-away, and picking methods, and dock safety standards.
- Utilize RF Scanners and WMS systems for inventory management.
- Communicate professionally and clearly, providing feedback to supervisors and managers.
- Train new employees and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Motivate the team and ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE policies.
- Assign daily tasks based on schedule, workload, and headcount.
- Log and communicate daily notes for pass downs, escalating issues as necessary.
- Identify and address shortages, discrepancies, and quality issues promptly.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in material handling, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience, formal or informal.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach lifts.
- Strong understanding of FIFO, put-away, and picking methods.
- Experience with RF Scanners and WMS systems.
- Ability to train employees and enforce SOPs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of experience in warehouses, receiving, or material handling in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems preferred.
- Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Forklift experience required.
- Lean/5S experience and OSHA Fork Lift Certifications are a plus.

Work Environment
This role requires standing and walking for extended periods, and the ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds. The work environment is a state-of-the-art facility using Industry 4.0 technology. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm. The facility promotes safety, organization, and readiness, adhering to 5S standards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
