Material Coordinator
Pay Rate: $25-30
Position Summary
The Material Coordinator manages the end‑to‑end lifecycle of materials used to support out clients fiber‑optic network builds, service installations, and field operations. This role oversees procurement support, inventory control, storage, kitting, and distribution of equipment to internal teams and vendor partners. The coordinator ensures material availability, accuracy, and readiness to support fast‑paced project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Material Management & Inventory Control
- Manage the complete lifecycle of materials, including ordering, receiving, storage, tracking, and distribution, ensuring operational needs are met on time.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure alignment with ERP or inventory systems.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for quality and accuracy; verify documentation, packing slips, and purchase order alignment.
- Optimize storage layout to improve material flow, accessibility, and warehouse organization.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to track orders, delivery timelines, backorders, and urgent requests.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendor delivery questions and shipment issues, escalating delays when necessary.
- Support purchasing by generating material requests, submitting replenishment needs, and monitoring lead times.
Distribution & Logistics
- Prepare, stage, and distribute materials needed for field operations, installs, maintenance, and fiber‑network construction builds.
- Coordinate logistics for outgoing shipments, equipment returns, RMA processing, and deliveries to field techs or warehouse sites.
- Work closely with network construction, field services, and engineering to forecast material needs for upcoming projects or builds.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and technical teams to ensure proper kitting and timely material availability for daily work assignments.
- Provide material‑status reporting and updates on pending orders, delivery risks, and inventory health.
- Support continuous improvements in supply chain processes, material handling standards, and system accuracy.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain all documentation related to material movements, receiving logs, inventory adjustments, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, handling procedures, and inventory‑control policies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in materials coordination, inventory control, logistics, or supply chain.
- Experience with ERP/inventory systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc. preferred).
- Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to lift/move materials and operate in warehouse/field environments as required.
- Telecom, construction, or utility industry experience is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
