Arcadis is currently seeking Analysts and Junior Management Consultants to join our world-class Business Advisory practice in Phoenix, AZ.
We are looking for candidates with an engineering degree (e.g., Civil, Environmental, or related) who are passionate about combining both engineering knowledge and information technology expertise with business analytics and data engineering to address critical challenges in the water, wastewater, and stormwater industries.
We want dedicated, creative, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable, data-driven solutions to address water issues like renewal and replacement of aging infrastructure, optimal enterprise data analytics, strategic planning, and business process optimization. Collaborating with our experienced consulting professionals, you will support and contribute to project outcomes; interact, and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities.

Role accountabilities:
As a Business Analyst within our team, you will have a diverse set of responsibilities aimed at driving business improvements and supporting management consulting projects. Your role will involve assessing, developing, and supporting various consulting initiatives by performing tasks such as business process mapping, requirements gathering, data analytics, and facilitating workshops. Working closely with teams and stakeholders, you will collaborate to understand and document requirements, delivering solutions including reports and visualizations as needed.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will play a key role in supporting the design and implementation of enterprise data governance solutions that enable the rollout of analytics and artificial intelligence tools. Leveraging your expertise in information technology, you will collect, organize, and analyze large datasets to derive valuable insights by identifying trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.
To excel in this role, you will need to possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a diligent work ethic. Being both self-motivated and team-oriented, you will work independently and collaboratively with team members across different locations nationally and internationally. Your ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines while staying within project budgets and timelines will be crucial for success.
Moreover, you should be client-focused, reliable, and capable of working under the supervision of project managers. Your eagerness to address new challenges, take ownership of tasks, and your knowledge of engineering concepts related to water/wastewater/stormwater, along with a drive to succeed and grow within the utility industry, will be key assets that contribute to your success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with strong emphasis or minor on Computer or Data Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience with tools for data analysis (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Exposure to programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or C#) and software development lifecycle tools (e.g., Jira, DevOps).
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate stakeholder engagements.
- Internship or relevant consulting experience in utilities, engineering, or data-driven fields.
- Experience in the water industry (e.g., water, wastewater, or stormwater utilities) or a strong interest in applying engineering and analytics skills to this sector is highly desirable.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
