As a high energy hospital, approximately 70% of the caseload is emergency medicine, giving the clinical team continuous opportunities to sharpen their skills and make a genuine difference for pets and their families.

This is a prestigious leadership opportunity for a veterinarian ready to shape the medical direction of a busy, well-respected practice. As Medical Director, you will mentor and develop the clinical team, establish medical protocols, and collaborate with hospital leadership to drive growth and innovation. The role blends hands on clinical work with executive oversight, offering the chance to influence patient care, team development, and overall hospital success.

The hospital is equipped with advanced technology including CT, fluoroscopy, flexible and rigid endoscopy, ultrasound, and digital radiography, supporting a broad and engaging caseload from routine procedures to critical, high impact emergencies. The clinical team is backed by a strong support structure of 5 to 8 skilled technicians per doctor, ensuring smooth day to day operations and allowing doctors to focus on delivering excellent medicine.

Located just two and a half hours from Phoenix and San Diego, Yuma offers over 300 days of sunshine a year, a close knit community, affordable living, and endless outdoor adventure from the Colorado River to the surrounding desert.

About You

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with current state license and DEA registration
• Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring and developing veterinary professionals
• Confident clinician with comprehensive knowledge of general practice and emergency medicine
• Excellent communication skills that inspire confidence in team members and clients
• Strategic thinker with sound business acumen and a collaborative approach to practice leadership
• Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to the highest standard of care
