Step into a pivotal role supporting students in a self-contained classroom specializing in behavioral and autism support. This full-time contract opportunity spans from August 3rd to May 21st, 2027, providing a rewarding experience within a highly structured, onsite educational environment near Glendale, AZ. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to help students with emotional disabilities and other exceptionalities develop crucial prosocial and self-regulation skills.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Arizona secondary teaching license
• Hold a current K-12 Special Education certificate
• Maintain an active IVP fingerprint clearance card
• Demonstrated experience with structured, intensive support classrooms, particularly serving students with autism or emotional/behavioral disabilities
• Background working with diverse student populations, including those at-risk, limited English proficient, or exceptional
• Strong understanding of special services activity development and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines
• Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training preferred, or willingness to participate in development sessions

Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for a self-contained classroom focused on intensive support for students with behavioral challenges and autism
• Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that address student needs and adhere to regulatory requirements
• Employ evidence-based strategies to foster social, emotional, and academic growth in students
• Cultivate a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate collaboratively with support staff, related service providers, and families
• Participate in staff development and continual learning
