Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring full-time Line Cooks to join our team at Yavapai Hotel in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing dishes according to recipes and chef specifications.

What will you do?

• Properly measure, portion, and cook all food items in a timely manner.
• Ensure correct food temperatures are maintained and food is stored safely.
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties according to proper guidelines.
• Keep workstation and equipment clean, organized, and sufficiently stocked.
• Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on spoilage sheet.

More about you

• Two years of related experience preferred, willing to train.
• Must be attentive and detailed oriented while working in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations.
• Requires basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and properly proportion foods.
• Must follow procedures and take directions; work independently and in a team.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must work rapidly in a fast paced environment while coordinating multiple orders.
• Able to stand for length of shift with frequent bending, lifting, reaching, stretching and grasping items.
• Exposure to variable temperatures and kitchen dangers such as heat, burns, scalds, cuts, slips and falls.
• Exposure to chemicals used to clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and surfaces.
