BASIC PURPOSE
The Dispatcher will coordinate driver assignments and activities to ensure proper distribution service to our customers. Escalate issues whenever there are risks to proper service.

**SCHEDULE** : **Day Shift**
+ Sunday - Thursday
+ noon start times
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimize overtime, downtime, and hours of service violations. Complete attendance trackers and verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.
+ Ensure that customer's needs are being met in a prompt and professional manner and escalate issues (late dispatch, breakdown, other service failures) to managers and sales force. Reassign routes as needed to solve service issues , and ensure that drivers are logging in and utilizing Proof of Delivery scanner.
+ Coordinate trailer, tractor, and backhaul assignments to support efficient logistics operations.
+ Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE.
+ Notify the manager / supervisor in charge and the safety specialist in the event of a vehicle accident or driver injury.
+ Other duties as assigned by manager.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
+ The work will take place both at a desk in an office environment and in normal warehouse environments including cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Related Experience/Requirements:
+ Minimum one year of transportation or logistics experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
+ Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
+ Excellent telephone and customer service ability.
+ Math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
+ Basic computer skills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
+ Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of limited scope.
+ Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division.
Education
+ High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Prior dispatcher experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations and driver logs.
+ Knowledge of our geographic delivery area.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
$17 - $25
