Sr Advanced Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Sr Advanced Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ ( Hybrid). Candidate must have strong expertise in Flight Management System software development with advanced proficiency in C++ and software architecture.

Rate Range: $52/hour to $57.06/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Sr Advanced Software Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing core FMS software architecture and high‑quality application components for next‑generation avionics systems.

• Integrating Flight Management System software modules and supporting functional load deliveries for new product development.

• Collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams to define requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.

• Implementing software features that meet performance, security, reliability, and scalability standards across embedded environments.

• Conducting code reviews and providing technical feedback to ensure adherence to design principles and coding best practices.

• Testing and validating software on lab benches and integration rigs to ensure compliance with certification and system requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field.

• Minimum of 8 years of hands‑on software development experience specifically in-Flight Management Systems.

• Candidate must have strong proficiency in C++ or object‑oriented programming with demonstrated capability in software architecture and design.

• Candidate must have proven experience integrating and developing FMS software within Agile or Scrum environments while supporting testing and certification activities.

Pay Details: $52.00 to $57.06 per hour
