Arizona Nursing Job Details

• Location: Tucson, AZ 85712 (Arizona nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel nurse
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D), 16-bed hospital unit
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour options (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (approx. 4 weekend shifts per month)
• Float: Required based on census
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Orientation: 36 hours (multiple dates available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130 - $2,190

L&D RN Qualifications

• Active Arizona Registered Nurse license
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (completed within last 2 years)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Supervisory reference required
• Travel nurses must reside outside a 75-mile radius of Tucson
• Prior work history at Tucson Medical Center requires rehire status approval
• Only one DUI on record permitted, must be over one year old

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy L&D hospital unit
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, Cesarean sections, D&C procedures, and antepartum/postpartum complications
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring, APGAR scoring, and newborn assessments
• Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and blood products
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation education for new parents
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, and social services
• Float to other clinical units as required based on patient census
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and safety initiatives
