Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Summit Healthcare Association.

Required Skills/Experience: Strong neuro and cardiac skills.

Unit Details: Heavy on telemetry; all beds have telemetry capability. Adult and pediatric patients, but travelers do not take pediatric assignments; these are assigned to permanent staff. Uses Sunrise Allscripts. Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs. Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days; 1:6 nights; 1:4 peds; also based on level of acuity. Nurse managers do not provide patient care, but they do rounds. Hospitalist in house 24/7. No IV team. Respiratory therapist 24/7. Pharmacy 24/7.

Floating Requirements: Float to all Med-Surg units and ICU (taking Med-Surg overflow patients).

14 days maximum time off

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
