Job Description

The Material Handler executes a wide range of material movement activities, including receiving, put away, picking, staging, and shipping within a medical device production and warehouse environment. This role processes inbound and outbound materials both on the dock and in warehouse storage locations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuity of workflow. The Material Handler follows strict safety and cGMP protocols, operates material handling equipment proficiently, and maintains accurate inventory records while coordinating closely with cross-functional teams and shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound materials on the dock, verify documentation, and ensure accurate and timely put away into designated warehouse storage locations.
  • Pick, stage, and ship outbound materials in accordance with work orders and schedules, ensuring materials are processed efficiently and correctly.
  • Serve as a key liaison across cross-functional teams and shifts by providing timely communication, updates, and alignment on operational priorities.
  • Manage issue resolution and exception handling to minimize operational delays and maintain continuity of warehouse and production workflows.
  • Coordinate shipment planning, truck scheduling, and material flow to support efficient and on-time warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to documentation, reporting, and compliance to ensure accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Support the release and allocation of outbound orders within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system to ensure orders are processed correctly.
  • Use RF scanners to record material movements, maintain inventory accuracy, and document processing steps in the system.
  • Operate electric-powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with facility procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by performing system updates, data entry, and basic inventory checks as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow cGMP and safety protocols at all times while working in clean rooms and warehouse areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operational success and continuous improvement of warehouse and production activities.
Essential Skills
  • At least one year of recent material handling experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with an ERP system.
  • Ability to use RF scanners to document material movements and ensure items are processed efficiently and correctly.
  • Prior experience operating electric-powered material handling equipment in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Prior experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Comfortable using computer systems with demonstrated data entry skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Solid mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to following safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working within a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or integrated ERP environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes and documentation practices.
  • Experience working in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across different shifts and departments to support continuous operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documentation.

Work Environment

The role is based in a medical device production facility that houses both clean rooms and warehouse operations under one roof. The environment follows cGMP standards and emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and compliance. The facility is air conditioned, providing a controlled and comfortable climate for both production and warehouse activities. Work involves operating electric-powered material handling equipment and using RF scanners and computer systems to manage inventory and documentation. Shifts follow a rotating schedule: one shift runs Sunday through Tuesday plus every other Wednesday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and another shift runs Thursday through Saturday plus every other Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Team members work in a fast-paced setting that requires coordination across shifts and departments to support continuous operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
