Raytheon's Commodity Supplier Assurance team has an opportunity for a Principal Supplier Engineer based in New York or New Jersey, who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier's technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability. Principal Supplier Engineer primary focus will be on electromechanical systems and subsystems. (Experience in one of these commodities is desired, but not required.) **What You Will Do:** + Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers + Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk + Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis + Manage supplier requests for product and process changes + Manage non-conforming products + Drive root cause and corrective action + Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities + Collaborate with and mentor teammates + Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders + Support domestic travel as needed (Approx 25%) **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Typically requires a Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, as described below + Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems and/or technical supplier management + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
