Project Overview:
Bechtel Supplier Quality & Expediting, Inc (BSQE) provides project supplier quality and quality surveillance services, as well as area expediting and delivery managers to ensure delivery of materials is on time with zero defects.
Job Summary:
Duties include providing professional accounting support services that may involve but are not limited to extracting data, performing analysis and preparing reports, working with transactional groups (i.e. Accounts Payable, Employee Accounts, Payroll) to troubleshoot issues and assist with queries from team members, and providing financial analysis and support to team members and management.
The Senior Accountant also works as a liaison between the field employees and Bechtel and guides the employees in completing timecards and expense reports. The successful candidate must have good organizational and teamwork skills, with an ability to work with moderate supervision. The candidate should possess the ability to maintain a customer-service orientation with a professional demeanor and communication style, flexibility, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-HB1
Major Responsibilities:
Manage BSQE’s billing process which uses the Oracle Billing and Recovery Systems process and an MS Access database to load billing files, maintain billing tables, analyze data, process corrections, reconcile billed hours to time records.
Handle the accounting functions related to BSQE, Division of Bechtel Canada; vendor and subcontract invoice review, billing schedule and financial data report preparation
Audit myTime records for pertinent accounting data (e.g. project job-sub job, assignment info, etc.)
Audit expense reports for proper use of job and sub job and adherence to travel policy and/or project requirements. Communicate with employees that are delinquent
Respond to billing inquiries from Project teams
Prepare monthly reports for Management; Employee utilization, Bi-weekly hours and Overtime
Assist team members with inquiries on various systems and related processes (myTime, Concur, Corporate Card usage, etc.)
Prepare monthly labor corrections and journal entries in the Oracle Financial systems
Prepare monthly reconciliations for all related accounts
Maintain the monthly travel and mileage log used for cost analysis and safety metrics
Input BSQE and Talascend job hours in the safety database
Add/Expire BSQE sub job numbers in Job Accounting Database (JADB)
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Above average organizational skills with the ability to function in a matrix organization and simultaneously handle numerous tasks of varying degrees of complexity
Able to work independently or as part of a team and use good judgment in the execution of assigned tasks including the ability to seek direction as needed
Knowledge of professional accounting and/or financial concepts and principles
Prior Oracle Financials experience and proficiency with MS office suite
Working knowledge of computer systems operations as applied to accounting functions, organization, and procedures
