Position Overview:

We are seeking an Entry-Level Forensic Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a combination of fieldwork and office-based engineering, with opportunities to investigate structural damage, perform engineering analyses, prepare technical reports, and design structural repairs for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform onsite structural inspections and damage assessments.
• Investigate structural failures caused by fire, water damage, vehicle impacts, tree impacts, foundation movement, and other structural issues.
• Document field observations through measurements, sketches, and photographs.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and repair recommendations.
• Perform structural calculations and design building repairs.
• Conduct special structural inspections of concrete, masonry, steel, and other building systems.
• Support residential, commercial, and industrial engineering projects.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• EIT Certification or successful completion of the PE exam.
• Engineering experience in structural, civil, or forensic engineering.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Structural inspection experience.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
• Experience performing structural calculations.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

• Approximately 50% field work throughout the Greater Phoenix area.
• Frequent travel to inspection sites.
• Combination of office and field responsibilities.
• Opportunity to work on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Climb ladders and access rooftops.
• Perform inspections in various indoor and outdoor environments.
• Drive to project sites throughout Arizona.
