The Business Development Manager shall be responsible for soliciting new business with the overall objective of generating measurable, viable leads to achieve company revenue goals and expand the company’s market presence in the multi-family, commercial, education, senior living, and retail construction sectors throughout Arizona. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with decision makers of new and existing clients and lead generators in the A/E/C, architect and engineering community; researching and analyzing target markets to develop strategic and tactical plans to grow the company in accordance with the overall company business plan; developing and overseeing the marketing and business development initiatives within the company; updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading local, regional, and national market reports and trade publications; attending staff meetings and other duties as directed by the President.
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the marketing budget and marketing plan.
- Manage qualification statements, proposals, and presentation activities.
- Manage collateral materials development, public relations and advertising programs, company identity development and implementation, social media campaigns, company website, and market research activities.
- Maximize company reputation in marketing material and at marketing events.
- Assist clients with special events including groundbreakings and grand openings.
Business Development Responsibilities:
- Seek business opportunities for the company via the internet, newspaper, trade journals, trade magazines and lead services.
- Initiate and develop contacts with potential clients and work with principals to secure new clients and projects.
- Build relationships with industry related contacts such as architects, engineers, commercial lenders, brokers, property managers and leasing agencies.
- Track opportunities via database.
- Research and gather information on potential clients and projects including qualifications and requirements.
- Schedule meetings with new and existing clients to discover project information.
- Develop and maintain a strong business network.
- Participate in and travel to industry appropriate organizations, trade shows, conferences, conventions, local industry events and education seminars as required.
- Develop and manage client satisfaction program.
- Request and secure client testimonials.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- College Degree and/or 5-10 years of construction business development or industry experience.
- Business development construction experience in Arizona preferred.
- Proven track record of developing, maintaining and expanding client base across multiple construction sectors.
- Ability to connect with and relate to people from varied backgrounds and interests to build, maintain and grow relationships.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Direct phone solicitation to generate new business and/or new leads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
