The **Neuropsychology Center at Banner Sun Health Research Institute (BSHRI)** serves all aspects of the Institute's mission - to make a difference to patients with age-related disorders through cutting-edge research, clinical care, prevention, and education. The Neuropsychology team includes neuropsychologists, psychometrists, research assistants, post-doctoral fellows, and psychology graduate students. Our team is dedicated to precision and accuracy in administration of neuropsychological measures, compassionate care for our patients and research participants, and collaborative innovation of best practices.
The **Psychometrist** administers and scores standardized cognitive and neuropsychological tests. Assessments take place in diverse contexts, including government- and industry-sponsored research and clinical trials, local and national research consortiums, community-based cognitive screenings, and outpatient clinical evaluations at the Cleo Roberts Memory and Movement Disorders Center. As a member of our team, you will also be engaged in our robust training program, which teaches the next generation of neuropsychologists (graduate students and post-doctoral fellows). The Neuropsychology Center is also called upon for sharing our expertise in cognitive assessment with colleagues across various departments.
**This position is On-Site at Banner University Alzheimer Institute**
**Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 40hrs wk.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position administers and scores various cognitive and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a neuropsychologist. This position attends training for specific clinical trial and/or research protocols and administers neuropsychological testing in accordance with protocols to ensure validity of testing.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Administers cognitive and neuropsychological tests utilizing a set test battery. Establishes rapport and maintains flexibility when interacting with patients/participants who are at varying levels of impairment. Uses judgment in determining patient's/participant's ability to complete testing. Provides appropriate direction and instruction to patients/participants in the administration of testing without compromising testing validity.
2. Scores evaluations and provides normative/standardized scoring for each measure. Provides observational summary which may include reference to patient/participant behavioral information, effort level, degree of redirection required. For certain evaluations, enters test data into computer database ensuring accuracy and entry in a timely manner.
3. Attends training provided by research sponsors to understand study protocols, administration and scoring procedures. Administers testing with a high level of attention to detail and with strict adherence to study protocols and procedures in order to provide valid test results.
4. Organizes and inventories protocols, forms, and test stimuli. Ensure that adequate supplies are available.
5. May assist in training intern students in the proper administration and scoring of instruments, along with the varied nuances of testing including behavioral observations, effort and validity of assessment, and rapport-building with patient/participant.
6. May be responsible for supervision of staff.
7. This position interacts with department staff, physicians, patients, clinical trial/research participants, clinical trial/research sponsors. Position requires clinical judgment in assessing patient/participant's ability to provide testing responses to ensure valid testing environment/results. Must provide strict adherence to established protocols and structured evaluations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in psychology, behavioral health or a related field.
Requires excellent attention to detail and must be able to follow protocols to provide valid testing environment and results. Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Requires ability to establish rapport with clients with varying degrees of impairment and to obtain optimal and valid testing results.
Requires ability to utilize computer database for maintaining test results.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in psychology or behavioral health related field preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
