About the Role

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix is seeking a skilled Streaming/IT Technician service provider/freelancer to support the broadcast team for our weekly live televised Mass airing on CW7 across Arizona and across social media. This position is essential for ensuring reliable streaming delivery and technical operations for our broadcast that reaches more than 50,000 viewers each week. The ideal candidate will have expertise in video streaming technologies, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain all streaming equipment and IT systems for the weekly broadcast
• Ensure proper encoding and delivery of live video streams across multiple platforms
• Monitor streams continuously for video and audio quality throughout the broadcast
• Quickly troubleshoot and resolve any streaming issues or technical problems
• Monitor audience comments and feedback on streaming platforms during broadcast
• Ensure all streaming equipment and IT systems are thoroughly tested and ready prior to broadcast
• Remain on-site throughout the entire production process to address any technical needs
• Coordinate with other technical staff to ensure seamless broadcast operations
• Manage network connectivity and bandwidth for reliable streaming
• Document technical processes and maintain equipment inventory

Requirements

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of broadcasting, video encoding equipment, and video codes
• Experience with live video delivery systems and streaming platforms
• Knowledge of network infrastructure and IT systems related to broadcast
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting streaming equipment
• Experience monitoring and maintaining stream quality in live environments
• Problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with production team
• Respectful of religious services and environments
• Experience with Facebook and YouTube streaming a plus

Work Schedule

• Must be available every Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
• Occasional flexibility may be required for special liturgical events
