AP/AR Specialist – Construction

Location: Chandler, AZ
Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Some flexibility available after training is completed

Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Summary
This role supports both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions within a construction-focused accounting environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with project teams, vendors, and accounting systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions. Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Generate and submit project invoices based on contract terms and billing schedules

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather and verify billing data

• Record customer payments and perform bank deposit entries

• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances

• Collect lien waivers to meet project funding requirements

• Manage and track preliminary notices and related documentation

• Respond to client inquiries regarding account status and billing issues

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices using digital workflow systems

• Review purchase orders for accuracy and alignment with invoices

• Reconcile monthly vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

• Communicate with vendors regarding payments and documentation

• Assist with year-end processes including 1099 preparation and audits

• Ensure vendor compliance with required documentation (W-9s, COIs, etc.)

• Verify subcontractor compliance prior to releasing payments

• Support vendor onboarding and maintain accurate vendor records

General Accounting Support

• Set up new jobs and enter change orders in accounting systems

• Input subcontractor agreements and related data

• Organize and maintain accounting files and documentation

• Assist with internal and external audits

• Support special projects and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in AP/AR or general accounting

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Experience in construction accounting is a plus

• Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage or similar platforms

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage confidential information professionally

• Effective communication and time management skills

Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
