Responsibilities:
Responsible for outside sales and promoting engineered wood products (EWP), and the sales rep will provide technical training. Maintain and build relationships with vendors and customers. The Sales Rep works closely with location sales team to develop and generate leads. Collaborates with the drafting team for estimates and blueprint take-offs from customer plan. Train sales team, dealers and customers how to estimate and convert solid-wood specifications to engineered wood products. The Sales Rep may perform drafting duties compiling placement plans for dealers. May work with lumber dealers, contractors, engineers and architects to provide complete framing package. Sales Reps may schedule transportation and help manage EWP inventory. Maintain the division SKU master on assigned product lines. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Prepare floor and roof framing layouts utilizing I-joists, LVL, rim board, and glulam beams. Generate placement plans, shop drawings, and cut lists from architectural and structural plans. Perform load development and beam sizing using approved calculation software. Optimize designs for material yield, cost efficiency, and constructability. Collaborate with OSRs, Product Managers, and Inside Sales to support project quoting and conversions. Provide technical guidance to customers regarding proper application of engineered wood products. Revise drawings based on redlines, field changes, and customer feedback. Maintain organized project files, documentation, and revision history. Support multi-family, tract, and custom home projects with accurate and timely designs. Assist sales team with value engineering alternatives to improve competitiveness and margin. Ensure all designs comply with manufacturer specifications, building codes, and engineering requirements.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion.
Preferred Qualifications: Broad knowledge of business administration, marketing, or procurement management a plus. Typically three (3) to five (5) years of experience in related job function. May require professional certification. Effective communication skills required.
