Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Automotive Rework Technician to join our team. This role involves performing rework and repair activities at the end of line within the plant, in the yard on full vehicles, and on nonconforming parts. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Flexibility to travel to multiple sites is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform rework, repair, and adjustments on full vehicles at the end of line and in yard environments
• Diagnose and correct issues on nonconforming parts and assemblies to meet OEM quality standards
• Complete overlay, splice, and component-level repairs as required
• Support rework of electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic issues on vehicles and parts
• Ensure all rework complies with safety, quality, and OEM specifications
• Document repair activities accurately and communicate progress with team leads and supervisors
• Follow all plant safety policies and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Travel to different plant and yard locations as business needs require
• If needed, work down in sort and containment, or yard operations as needed to support project demands

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial repair preferred
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and repair guidelines
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Team-oriented with effective communication skills

Preferred Education & Certifications:

• Completion of technical automotive college or equivalent training
• ASE Certifications A1–A9 preferred
• XEV1 & XEV2 certification preferred

Safety Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Standing, lifting, and repetitive work may be required
• Potential exposure to non-hazardous chemicals, electrical components, and excessive noise levels
• Use of proper PPE for eye, hearing, and electrical safety is required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on work
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed
• Willingness to work in varied environments (plant floor, yard, outdoor conditions)
