POSITION SUMMARY
The Machine Operator Supervisor oversees the daily operations of machine operators and ensures the efficient production of high-quality parts. This role combines advanced technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and training team members, managing workflows, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise, mentor, and train Machine Operators I–V, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to protocols.
• Delegate tasks effectively to meet production schedules and maintain productivity.
• Lead daily team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
• Oversee and ensure proper operation of all machines, including CNC, lathes, and facers.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex machinery issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
• Ensure team compliance with company safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Manage production workflows, ensuring targets and deadlines are met.
• Record and analyze production metrics, including part counts, material usage, and time management.
• Assist in scheduling maintenance and repair tasks for machinery.
• Promote and enforce a safe working environment for all team members.
• Report safety or quality concerns to management promptly.
• Support the P Manager in day-to-day production needs.
• Other task as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in manufacturing or machining preferred.
• Extensive experience in machine operations, including CNC and manual machinery.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor team members.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Expertise in machining processes and equipment.
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting CNC machines.
• Familiarity with production planning and inventory management software.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early or late hours, weekends, or overtime.
Physical
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with or without mechanical aid, as required for specific tasks.
• Capability to perform physical activities including prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working in elevated or confined spaces.
• Physical stamina to handle varying environmental conditions and maintain productivity throughout the workday.
• Dexterity to operate and maintain painting equipment and tools with precision.
