Radiation Therapist - Travel Job

What You'll Need:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) certification in Radiation Therapy
• Valid Arizona Radiation Therapy state license, if required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of clinical care and radiation therapy techniques and equipment
• Ability to perform patient assessments, treatment planning tasks, and radiation delivery
Minimum Requirements (Client-Specific)
• National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
• State licensure required if applicable.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience operating treatment and treatment planning equipment, including simulation, and performing equipment quality control measurements.
• Demonstrated competence with invasive/interventional procedures related to radiation therapy as defined by department policy.
• Ability to follow radiation safety practices and ALARA principles for receipt, administration, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Must possess clinical communication and documentation skills and be safety conscious.
• Employees working at certain campus locations may be required to possess an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment. This is specific to some program sites.
• Preferred: previous radiation therapy experience.
• Preferred: additional related education or experience.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift: Days.
- Shift hours: 07:00-17:00.
- Assignment duration: 13 Week travel assignment.
- Start/End window: beginning in June through late August timeframe.
Additional Duties:
• Perform radiation therapy treatments by following and verifying referring providers' orders and departmental policies.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures and treatments.
• Operate treatment and treatment planning equipment and prepare treatments for prescribed doses.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after therapy and maintain accurate documentation.
• Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements and troubleshoot equipment performance.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors and adhere to radiation safety practices.
• Support efficient departmental workflow and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
