As a vital member of the educational team, you'll work closely in a 1:2 setting—primarily assisting a student with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair, while also providing care to a classmate with asthma. Your compassion and commitment will empower these students to thrive and participate fully in their learning environment.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in special education (SPED) settings is essential
• Paraprofessional or Instructional Assistant background preferred
• Medical experience or familiarity with physical/medical needs is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to provide toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance
• Comfortable offering individualized support without challenging behaviors
• Flexibility and patience in adapting to students’ unique requirements

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Serve as a caring presence for two students, focusing on mobility and activity participation
• Assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, toileting, and transferring between mobility devices
• Encourage student engagement and interaction within the classroom
• Maintain accurate documentation related to support provided
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to follow individualized care and education plans
• Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment
