Human Resources Generalist
DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION
REPORTS TO: HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
PAY RATE: $25.00/HOUR POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting and hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, background investigation, and obtain and maintain a gaming license
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources management experience required
- Must be able to communicate in the primary language of the workplace (English)
- Must have advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools, payroll, and human resources software
- Basic math skills required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft products including word, excel, and outlook
- Ability to learn and understand varying technologies quickly and efficiently
- Must have a positive outlook and like to work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records
- Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work any shift required including nights, weekends and holidays

While performing duties of this position, employees are required to stand for extended periods, frequently walk, perform repetitive motions, and have finger dexterity to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally reach, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift 20 pounds with occasional lifting of more than 35 pounds, assisted. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, and manage anger, fear, hostility, and violence of others appropriately. The position requires the ability to process information using computer methods and technology, at times for more than 50% of the work time. Must be able to move chairs, tables, and props used for events as necessary. PUBLIC RELATIONS:
