A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a full-time, non-exempt General Maintenance Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled non-licensed work in the maintenance, repair, and restoration of the university’s buildings and grounds, including but not limited to, minor carpentry, landscaping, irrigation repairs, painting, plumbing, flooring, and limited heating/air conditioning work. This work will assist in ensuring the safety and general appearance of the campus buildings and surrounding grounds are maintained in accordance with the required standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respond to assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Inspect buildings and identify corrective maintenance needs and ensure equipment is operating correctly.
• Coordinate with vendors when work is contracted out.
• Troubleshoot general building system issues and problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues independently or with guidance from supervisors.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students and faculty.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders to up to 25 feet.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, as well as lift and carry heavy objects, is crucial.
• Ability to collaborate with other maintenance staff or contractors.
• Ability to interact professionally with customers or occupants of the building.
• Willingness to adapt to different tasks and work schedules, including weekends or emergencies.
• Adherence to safety procedures and work instructions provided by supervisors or technical manuals.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment is essential.
• Ability to move around freely in a building, including navigating stairs and ramps, is important.
• Ability to use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Hiring Range: 20.58 to 23.68 negotiable based on experience.
