SUMMARY
Landscape or maintain grounds of Casino property using hand or power tools or equipment. Grounds Keeper will perform a variety of tasks, which may include: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge of groundskeeping machines and tools.
- Mows lawns, using a power mower.
- Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
- Rakes and collects leaves into bags.
- Cleans grounds and removes trash and debris.
- Seeds and fertilize the lawn.
- Maintains outside irrigation.
- Plants include grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Waters lawn and shrubs.
- Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
- Decorate the garden with stones and plants.
- Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmowers, spreaders, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be certified by the Cocopah Tribal Gaming Office.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; a combination of education or experience may be considered.
- 1-year prior experience in landscaping.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
In the entertainment industry, one may be subject to a work environment containing excessive noise, smoke, and stress.
