Job Title: Installation Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Installation Supervisor to join our team and ensure the successful execution of installation projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview:  The Installation Supervisor will oversee installation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves supervising, training teams, performing installs, managing schedules and resources, and upholding safety standards.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervisor:  Supervise and coach installation crews, provide on-the-job training, perform installs and foster a safe, productive and efficient work environment
  • Project Oversight:  Monitor and manage the progress of installations, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, quality standards, and deadlines.
  • Site Management:  Conduct pre- and post-installation site visits to verify readiness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Support:  Address technical issues, equipment malfunctions, and installation errors, providing solutions as needed.
  • Coordination & Logistics:  Schedule installations, manage site access, and oversee the procurement and handling of materials and equipment.
  • Communication:  Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Safety & Compliance:  Ensure all installations meet safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting:  Document project progress, maintain records, and provide reports on performance, quality, schedule, and costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Scheduling and Coordination:  Skilled in project management and scheduling software.
  • Experience & Education:  High School Diploma or GED; relevant certifications or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred. At least 5+ years of experience in vehicle and environmental installation, with proven supervisory experience.
  • Technical Expertise:  Proficiency with installation tools and equipment, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Team Supervision:  Strong planning, adaptability, team management & delegation, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, cultural awareness and ability to coach and motivate.
  • Organizational Skills:  Proven time management, attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills:  Excellent verbal and written communication for coordinating with team members and clients.
  • Problem-Solving:  Aptitude for identifying issues and implementing effective solutions under pressure.
  • Computer Proficiency:  Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling or project management software. Experience with specific industry systems may be required.
  • Customer service:  A commitment to customer satisfaction and building strong relationships.
  • Proficiency:  with installation tools and equipment.

  Core duties and responsibilities

 Project management

  • Scheduling and coordination: Plan and coordinate installation schedules, manage logistics, and allocate labor and materials to meet project timelines.
  • Cost control: Monitor labor and material costs to keep projects within budget and assist with billing forecasts.
  • Quality assurance: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and industry codes.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of installation activities, project progress, and expenses. Provide regular updates to Client service and Operations team.

Team Supervision

  • Supervision: Oversee the daily activities of installation crews and subcontractors, ensuring work is performed efficiently and correctly within budgeted time.
  • Training and development: Train and mentor installation technicians on company procedures, safety protocols, and product knowledge.
  • Recruitment: Assist with recruiting new installers as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Performance management: Provide guidance and foster a culture of quality and accountability.

Client and stakeholder relations

  • Issue resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or complaints that arise on-site to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, such as Operations and Sales team, to ensure all project requirements are met.

Safety and compliance

  • Safety enforcement: Implement and enforce company and industry safety protocols and regulations on all job sites.
  • Site readiness: Conduct pre-installation site visits to assess readiness and ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained for installations.
  • Oversee document management processes, with responsibility for tracking and verifying the validity of all required install team documents and licenses. This includes monitoring expiration dates and initiating timely renewals to maintain compliance.
