Internship Description:

Morrison Education Group's (MEG) Aspiring Educators Enrichment Program is a transformative opportunity for future educators to immerse themselves in the world of teaching by aligning with our school's vision, mission, and goals. This program is designed to align with Sun Valley Academy's mission of fostering a loving, inclusive, innovative, and impactful environment for students to learn and thrive while being educated. This voluntary program provides participants with hands-on field experience, allowing them to observe, engage, and collaborate within our dynamic educational environment. As an Aspiring Educator, you will collaborate with experienced educators, contribute to classroom activities, and support the development of a diverse and engaging learning community.

Internship Duties:

As an Aspiring Educator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience, empowering both yourself and your students. Your duties encompass:

• Classroom Engagement : Assist teachers in delivering lessons, engaging students, and managing classroom activities.
• Reflective Observation: Immerse yourself in the classroom environment, critically analyzing teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and student dynamics.
• Inclusive Education : Collaborate with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs, homework guidance, constructive feedback, and tailored student support while ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
• Curriculum Enhancement: Contribute ideas and materials to enhance lesson plans and promote interactive learning.
• Innovative Lesson Co-Creation: Partner with educators to design creative, culturally responsive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning preferences.
• Student Mentorship: Provide support to students who require additional assistance or guidance.
• Assessment and Feedback: Assist in evaluating student work and providing constructive feedback for improvement. Receive one-on-one coaching and mentorship from teachers, benefiting from personalized insights for pedagogical refinement.
• Positive Student Engagement: Participate in cultivating an inclusive classroom culture through managing behavioral situations and inspiring positive peer relationships.
• Event Participation: Engage in school events, workshops, and meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the educational ecosystem.
• Learning Reflection: Reflect on your experiences and insights, sharing them with mentors to foster personal and professional growth.
• Collaborative Projects: Work with educators to develop and execute collaborative projects that benefit both students and the community.

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Physical Requirements:

• Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Currently enrolled in a community college education program or related field.
• Passion for education and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, teachers, and staff.
• Adaptability and openness to learning from diverse educational perspectives.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Basic computer skills for preparing and delivering instructional materials.
• Physical ability to engage in classroom activities and support students as needed.
