Position Overview

A pioneering manufacturer specializing in high-tech modular fabrication for the defense, energy, and aerospace industries is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at their cutting-edge production facility. This company is recognized for its innovative approach to designing and assembling complex, precision-engineered components that power critical applications worldwide. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring the seamless execution of production schedules, and upholding a culture of safety and continuous improvement in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of a sophisticated manufacturing facility focused on modular fabrication, overseeing production lines that produce specialized components for defense, energy, and aerospace applications.

• Lead a team of production supervisors and technicians, fostering a hands-on, problem-solving culture to meet stringent quality and delivery timelines.

• Optimize operational performance by analyzing and improving key metrics such as cycle time, defect rates, equipment uptime, and resource utilization.

• Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, leveraging techniques like Kanban, value stream mapping, and just-in-time production to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.

• Ensure compliance with rigorous safety standards (e.g., OSHA) and industry-specific regulations, maintaining a zero-incident workplace.

• Partner with engineering and quality teams to integrate advanced fabrication technologies and troubleshoot production challenges in real time.

• Manage budgeting and cost control for labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring alignment with production goals and financial targets.

• Spearhead workforce planning and development, including hands-on training for operating specialized machinery and adopting new process innovations.

• Oversee inventory and material flow, coordinating with supply chain teams to prevent bottlenecks in a high-stakes production environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with exposure to precision fabrication or assembly for defense, energy, or aerospace sectors.

• Deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization tools.

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems to manage production planning, inventory, and resource allocation.

• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.

• Strong analytical skills to diagnose operational issues and implement effective solutions quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and audit readiness.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, on-site position in a high-energy manufacturing plant with advanced automation and precision equipment.

• May require occasional evening or weekend shifts to support production surges or critical deadlines.
