Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
- Key responsibilities: Provide comprehensive Med Surg care for adult patients, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, wound and wound‑care management, telemetry interpretation, and care planning in collaboration with physicians, case managers, and rehabilitation teams. Document thoroughly in the electronic health record, communicate clearly with patients and families, and participate in daily rounds to ensure safe transition from acute care to discharge planning. Demonstrate clinical judgment in prioritizing a busy workload, respond promptly to changes in patient status, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Support orientation of new staff and students, share best practices, and pursue opportunities to advance in specialty skills such as post‑operative care, infection control, and patient education.
- Growth and development: Leverage flexible assignment structures to expand competencies in Med Surg hematology, cardiology, and post‑operative recovery, with pathways to leadership roles and specialty certifications. The program is designed to reward initiative, with extension opportunities, additional shifts, and cross‑facility placements that broaden your experience.
- Benefits and support: Competitive weekly pay in the range of $1,902–$2,040, with guaranteed 36.0 hours per week to help stabilize your earnings. Sign‑on incentives, housing assistance, and relocation support are available where eligible. The arrangement includes the option to extend the contract and to pursue successive assignments that align with your professional goals. You will have 24/7 support from a dedicated travel team while you’re on assignment, ensuring you’re never navigating challenges alone. Comprehensive travel amenities, including access to housing stipends or partner housing, are provided to reduce the stress of relocation. Ongoing access to credentialing resources, clinical updates, and hospital‑specific onboarding ensures you stay current and confident in every shift.
- Professional growth and recognition: The role emphasizes ongoing learning, mentorship, and exposure to high‑acuity Med Surg cases that sharpen critical thinking, batch process improvement, and patient education strategies. You’ll gain visibility within a national network that supports your ambition to advance into leadership, informatics, or specialty services, all while maintaining work‑life balance through predictable scheduling and backup coverage when needed.
