Lead Test Engineer
Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking a Lead Test Engineer for Tactical Communications. You'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for providing rapid prototype mission critical solutions to our customer community. The-Lead is responsible for overseeing the integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded systems within the Unified Testing Framework (UTF) environment. This role requires expert-level knowledge of testing methodologies, Python programming, and system integration practices to ensure product quality and reliability.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of integration and test engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and direction
- Develop and maintain the test strategy for embedded products-
- Architect test solutions that effectively validate system requirements
- Establish best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting
- Leading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and internal testing assessments with key program stakeholders
- Design comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of product functionality
- Develop automated test scripts using Python 3.9+ following GDMS coding standards
- Implement robust verification and validation methodologies
Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams
- Establish integration procedures that ensure smooth component interaction
- Support AGILE implementation
- Create detailed test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports
- Maintain accurate records of test activities and results
- Ability to develop ROMs in accordance with execution of requirements
- Conduct Performance reviews per process
Required Skills
- Due to the nature of work being performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Willing and able to obtain a DoD Secret / Top Secret clearance
- Requires a Bachelor-s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field and 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. -
- Experience leading 3 to 5 team members, holding team members accountable to program milestone execution
- Expert knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages, Python
- Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and methodologies
- Experience with hardware/software integration testing
- Significant experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendors.
