What You Will Do
Seeking a strategic internal communications professional to drive impactful messaging that aligns site initiatives with company-wide goals. This role involves crafting clear, engaging content, promoting employee feedback, and ensuring timely delivery through appropriate channels. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, uphold brand values, and connect local communications to the broader enterprise narrative.
- Partner with site leadership to craft and execute communication strategies that align with site and enterprise goals.
- Develop engaging content—such as employee stories, recognition pieces, and newsletters—for local and company-wide use.
- Manage key communication channels, including weekly packets, monthly newsletters, and digital displays, ensuring content is timely and aligned with priorities.
- Support change management and engagement through targeted campaigns that reflect company values and resonate with local teams.
- Establish feedback loops to evaluate communication effectiveness and adapt strategies based on employee input and evolving site needs.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High School Diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Recruiting or related field, OR
- Bachelor's Degree AND seven (7) years of experience in Communications, Government Relations, Community Relations or related field; OR
- Master's Degree AND five (5) years of experience in Communications, Government Relations, Community Relations, or related field.
- Strong writing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills
- Experience in external communications and simplifying complex topics
- Excellent project management and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable working under pressure with sensitive, high-visibility content
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and responsive to shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in global, multi-site organizations, ideally in mining or natural resources
- Bilingual with strong communication and emerging leadership skills
- Creative, adaptable communicator who thrives in ambiguity and challenges norms
- Quick learner with a collaborative mindset and ability to navigate complex organizations
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $85,000-$116,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. What We Require
